• Event Curation

  Laura has been the Head of the international program at Oslo World since 2016, curating interdisciplinary day programs for the festival. Her ability to conceptualize and execute events around themes like Movement, Forbidden Songs, Freedom, and Utopia showcases her talent in creating engaging and meaningful experiences.

• Initiative Creation

  As a co-creator of initiatives such as Map the World and the Utopian Manifesto, Laura demonstrates innovation and a proactive approach to addressing cultural and societal challenges.

  During the pandemic she worked closely with Garnes Data, Sentralen and Estraad to develop a new 3D ecosystem festival, acting on their ‘Solidarity’ theme, have made all tickets free, with optional donations going to the Beirut music scene.

• Advisor / Jury

  With a background as a Program Advisor at the Film fra Sør festival and as a Jury Member of Spellemannprisen, Laura Camacho Salgado possesses a unique ability to critically assess the intricacies of music and cinema. Her expertise ensures a discerning eye in the judging process, guaranteeing that finalists and winners receive well-deserved recognition based on their craft and artistic merit.

• Cultural Advocacy

  Laura underscores the importance of cultural institutions and artists in fighting for freedom of expression, freedom of speech, and gender equality. This reflects her commitment to cultural advocacy and the impact of the arts on societal issues. Especially in her engagement of two Creative Europe funded programs : Keychange and Cultural Transformation Project, with partners across 13 and 5 countries respectively.

  Laura's academic background in literature, arts, and cinema, coupled with her role at the music festival Oslo World, showcases her ability to navigate and integrate diverse fields of study, making her an asset for roles requiring an interdisciplinary approach.

• Research Skills

  As an independent researcher interested in body politics, migration studies, and border aesthetics, Laura brings a strong research background, contributing to academic publications and staying at the forefront of relevant topics.

  Laura is multilingual, fluent in Spanish, French, Italian, and English, enhancing her ability to engage with diverse audiences and collaborate on an international scale. Currently she is improving her Norwegian knowledge.

  She has worked as a freelance translator and proofreader for several years.
